I want to thank everyone that has been there for us throughout this ordeal and the best way that I can express that is through poetry, so I wrote this poem.
I guess you all would think I'm crazy if I
were to say
That I've enjoyed myself at the hospital Hilton these past 30 days.
The people here are awesome nothin' short of
kings and queens
when it comes to care and comfort for my sis, you were the best I'd ever seen.
You all would come in and ask Jyl, "How
we doin' today"
and from the concern in your voices and the moisture in your eyes
I knew you were the kind who actually meant what you say
You'd tell me " just doin' my job"
Just earnin' my pay"
But I know that meaning of Ridin' for the Brand
so I look at your work a whole different way
It might be in the middle of the night
Maybe I'm trying to find a word
that rymes with love
You'd come a tip-toeing in
Like my own little bank of Guardian Angels
Sent down from God above
Looks like I've said a whole lot of words
When all I needed to say was just one
But I felt like you needed
a pat on the back each and everyone
I guess its time to bid farewell
Time to be frank
for everything you've done for my sis
I just wanted to say Thanks.
